We had a walking group this morning. I was surprised when the HCSW suggested it because a walking group involves us leaving the ward (obviously!), which means all sorts of issues crop up like staffing levels and leave. Anyway, I’m up for anything that gives me a break from the monotony of the ward at the weekend so went along. The hospital is in a rural area, in a beautiful national park, so it’s there for the taking.
In other news, I’m having some overnight leave! My social worker, named nurse, the ward manager and I hatched a cunning plan. It’s all very hush hush though, the penpushers mustn’t know (it’s totally ridiculous it’s come to this but I’ve done beds to death so I’m going to resist the temptation to go on about it again!). I’m very excited! It feels right this time. Last time I went on leave it was too soon and for too long (seven days). If it all goes to plan, which I anticipate it will, then it’s back on the ward tomorrow and then hopefully seven days leave from Thursday.
I’m meeting a civilian specialist from the local police service in the morning to talk through my options r.e. reporting the abuse. Now that I am very nervous about so if anybody’s got any positive vibes going spare they’d be very much appreciated.
